The visit to the caves themselves was really great! It's hard to believe that nature formed them. Again, photos really don't do them justice. We took a train, which carried us into the depths of the caves, and we hopped off and walked down for around 2km. The stalactites grow at about a rate of 1mm per TEN years. And there were some massive ones. There was a big natural concert hall, which they actually use to do concerts. We also saw Proteus, which are blind lizard-like animals that live in the caves. Ooo.
After the caves we headed off to Metlika, an uber cute little town. Seriously it's so picturesque. Our concert venue was at the town castle. Yes. Castle. Haha. We played after a dinner of schnitzel and chips.
Only got into Ljubljana at 1:30am... So incredibly knackered.
