Ljubljana (Day 2) / Velenje

P159 P161 P163 P165 P167
Headed to Metelkova today. This is a FUNKY as street. It was originally army barracks, but after the war and army were gone it was squatted. It managed to succeed in protesting government plans to build apartments there, and it's now an alternative street with awesome buildings with amazing art on the outside. Didn't take any photos on my phone but you can wait until I get back to nz and upload my camera photos :)
After this we headed to a cute little bar after some Kinder Surprise Gelato. Awkward when the waiter asked us if we wanted food too we said "no because it was too early." I got a Lemon Radler which was so much nom.
Our big grouped split up and Jono, Emily, helen and I went down the river to check out the roman ruins. Physically, they weren't that impressive, but it was so cool seeing something THAT old.
Our concert for the day was in Velenje, the youngest city in Slovenia. It was built after WWII so apparently "has no history." admittedly the buildings were much newer. We got some ice-cream but a funny as dude (1€ and free choc dipping) before our rehearsal. So many ice-cream carts in europe, all with Gelato.
It started raining just before the concert but miraculously it cleared up for the concert.
Today is our last morning in Ljubljana, followed by a NINE hour bus ride to Tübingen -.- not so keen for that!
